Lanterns from Original Train will Once Again Make History

We are honored and humbled to have been loaned two brass lanterns that were on the 1865 Lincoln funeral train. The lanterns will be displayed on the replicated funeral coach. Historic Undertaking

The recreation of the historic Lincoln funeral train, and its route from D.C. to Springfield, Ill., is an undertaking of historic proportions. The historical research, the intricate details of building the train, the planning and execution for transporting the train across the country, and coordinating with cities along the route will involve a cast of hundreds.
